Parent Coaching

What is parent coaching?
Parent coaching is an approach to delivering speech and language therapy, support, and parent education. This approach is appropriate for children of all ages with and without a speech/language disorder. Coaching will help you:

-
Understand if your child is on track developmentally

-
Gain valuable strategies for supporting communication development within everyday activities

-
Learn specific cues to elicit and promote articulation skills and/or expressive and receptive language skills

-
Learn multiple ways to engage with your child through fun activities while supporting targeted goals/skills

Coaching also provides education for parents and caregivers related to articulation and language developmental skills, sensory processing skills, and functional social skills.
What does a coaching session look like?
Whatever you want it to! The benefit of parent coaching with Hand in Hand Speech Consulting is that you get to choose what you want to work on. Every coaching session is flexible to meet your needs. Together we will discuss your goals and collaborate to create a plan so you are empowered with all of the tools you need to reach your goals.

Our meetings will take place over Google Meets at a time that is convenient for you. During our session, I may observe you engaging in an activity with your child and provide feedback, coach you in real-time, or connect just with you to troubleshoot and strategize. Through conversation, demonstration, and specific action items, you will feel confident in supporting your child's communication at home.
What other support do you offer?
-
Support to determine if your child would benefit from an evaluation

-
Observations of children in preschool settings to determine what type of supports may be needed to support full participation within the learning environment

-
Guidance for navigating your child's therapeutic journey

-
Understanding which professionals to connect with based on your needs and goals (psychologists, tutors, developmental and behavioral pediatricians, counselors, occupational therapist, physical therapist, etc.)

-
Training for other important people in your child's life (nannies, grandparents, teachers, etc.)

-
Support for homeschool parents on how to address speech and/or language needs

How do we get started?
We will begin with an initial consultation call to:

-
Review your child's current skills and determine his/her developmental needs

-
Discuss your concerns and answer your questions

-
Determine your goals and priorities

During our call, I will make recommendations on the most appropriate approach for you and your child.

Therapy & Evaluations

Direct Speech Therapy Services with Hand In Hand Speech Consulting
Serving Children 18-Months to 17-Years Old
Our pediatric speech therapy team offers evaluations and one-on-one direct speech therapy services for speech, language, stuttering, and voice. Our private speech therapy services are offered in-home, at preschools, and in our office.

Our speech therapists are educated and trained to evaluate and treat communication delays and disorders. Speech therapy sessions are personalized to each child's needs, likes, and goals. We use books, crafts, hands-on activities, games, and toys to keep children engaged in the learning process.
We value parents as an integral part of the child's team, dedicating time to teach parents how to work on speech and language skills at home to support long-term success.
